Title
APPROVAL OF CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE VENICE HIGH SCHOOL REBUILD PROJECT - SITE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE

Description
Under the terms of the 7/21/2009 (Item #63) Board approved "Agreement between Owner and Construction Manager for Pre-Construction & Bidding Services", the Executive Director of Construction Services and a member of the Professional Services Selection Committee (PSSC) have successfully negotiated a contract with W.G. Mills, Inc. for a portion of the Venice High School Rebuild project. The 7/21/2009 agreement included pre-construction and bidding services only. The scope of this contract shall include Sitework including earthwork, water, sewer and storm drainage, paving, site lighting in the south parking lot, temporary canopies for outside dining, temporary fencing and irrigation sleeving. The Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of this contract is $7,594,102.00. The remaining contracts for Vertical Construction will be negotiated upon completion of those Contract Documents. This contract is available for review at the Construction Services Department. The School Board attorney has approved the use of this contract. Funds for this contract are available in the project budget account.

Recommendation
That the Contract for Construction of the Venice High School Rebuild project - Site Improvements Phase, be approved as presented.
